Terms of Service

Guled Said Osman (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Flickd film-quiz game available at flickd.fun and through our mobile and desktop apps (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are between 16 and 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian where required by your local law.

We do not knowingly allow children under 16 to register. If we discover that a child under 16 has created an account, we will delete it.

4.1 Registration

You may use certain features without an account. To save progress and access multiplayer features, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password, or signing in through Google or GitHub (OAuth).

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

4.2 Accuracy of information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. Display names must not impersonate another person, contain personal data of third parties, or include offensive content.

4.3 Account termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Account Settings → Delete my account, or by emailing [email protected].

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to scrape or abuse the Service.
• Submit content that is false, misleading, defamatory, abusive, or that violates any third party's rights.
• Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities to gain an unfair advantage; report them to [email protected] instead.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Use the Service to transmit spam, malware, or any harmful content.

6.1 Movie submissions and corrections

Registered and anonymous users may submit new movies or report corrections to existing entries (“Contributions”). By submitting a Contribution, you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and use the Contribution within the Service.

6.2 Prohibited content

Contributions must not include personal data of real individuals, copyrighted content beyond factual film metadata, or anything that violates these Terms.

6.3 Moderation

We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any Contribution without notice or liability.

All content provided by us — including the game logic, UI design, original graphics, and curated film data — is owned by Guled Said Osman or licensed to us. Film metadata (titles, years, genres, directors, etc.) is factual information not protected by copyright.

We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.

Multiplayer games use WebRTC peer-to-peer connections. Your chosen player name, guesses, and scores are shared in real time with other players in your session. This data is not stored on our servers.

You agree not to use multiplayer features to harass, abuse, or impersonate other players.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GULED SAID OSMAN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED €50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Berlin, Germany. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
